Songs with metaphors
Of course there are countless songs with metaphors. But here are some of my personal favourites, for you to have a listen and identify the metaphors. Some have similes too!
I Wanna Be Yours
Talks about "love and deep devotion". It won't make sense to want to be a 'portable heater', but because it is a metaphor, we understand the person just wants to keep the other person warm.
Firework
All about spirit and the strength to keep on going. You are not technically a 'firework' but you sure do shine bright like one! It means that you are seen and you are beautiful, like a firework.
Your Love is a Song
The title itself is a metaphor.
Roar
The singer compares themselves as strong and powerful animals in the jungle. Embodying these animals she becomes a 'champion', and by hearing her 'roar' you will finally hear how powerful her voice is.
